it was just last month that i was telling kelci about losing an entire load to a turquoise crayon. since i am kind enough to wash all of the laundry the least my family could do is go through their own pockets! so the rule is that they check, however i'm not going to take their word for it and risk losing another load of laundry. i do a double check and since the rule is that they must first check, if i find something then they suffer the wrath of mom, and it ain't pretty.
I would say it's each person's responsibility to check their own pockets. but then again, my dd isn't old enough to leave crayons or pens in her clothes! So i suppose it wouldn't hurt to double check.... but it's one more step you SHOULDN'T have to do.
Ok, I should clarify, I'm talking strictly about your husband's clothing. He leaves a freakin pen in his pants that ruins your favorite Old Navy jeans. His fault for being too lazy to empty his pockets or yours for being too busy to check each garment before chucking it into the wash?
wait...were these THE bootie jeans?? if so then he's already been punished by no longer being able to bask in the view of juicy bootie jeans. for those of you who have not met kelci in person , she has what most men would consider a glorious bootie and these(if they are the ones) provided the best venue for said bootie, in fact i believe her husband told her to buy another pair just to have a spare. shame on him.
I do all the laundry and I do the checking of DH. Anything I find (cash) is mine for the keeping. For the most part he always removes everything. I have luckily never had a crayon or pen left in the laundry...knock on wood.
My boys aren't old enough yet for crayons in the laundry (thank god), but dh is usually pretty good about pulling all his crap out of his pants when he gets home . . . speaking of . . my dh piles all this 'said crap' on my freakin' kitchen counter! Yes, I was nice and bought him a bucket to store this 'said crap' in to a suppose 'tidy up a bit' or 'at least make it look neater', but the crap ends up BESIDE the bucket on the freakin' counter! Ok . . I got way off topic of laundry. Anyhoo, I don't check . . haven't had any 'lost loads' yet either. I do find change here in there that he misses and that is mine! LOL! $10 bill is the most I have had though! Waiting for the $100! HA! Yah right . . .

after three loads with crayons...(orange)...that ruined the entire load...it's mine, not happily, though.

He-he. His. Did you know a front loading washing machine will slice your ATM card completely in half?
