Question of the day

Laundry. How do you do it? My house is never really clean, but I try to keep it in a presentable state. But laundry is the one cleaning issue I just can't seem to effectively tackle. At any given time, you can walk into my master bedroom to find laundry piled every where.

I seem to be handling everything ok except for actually putting it away. I get it out of the dryer promptly, fold everything and lay out the shirts in piles for each family member. It's getting it all on hangers and into drawers I have a problem with.

I used to have one or two big laundry days a week. When that didn't work, I went to doing a load a day thinking that if the pile was smaller, I'd actually get it put away. That doesn't seem to be working either. So, how do you do laundry? Maybe I need to treat myself like a child and create a sticker chart or something for the days I actually follow through on laundry. Or maybe it's like potty training and I should get three m&m's for a job well done.

On a completely separate note, I just dropped prices on all of the smaller handbags in my shop from $32 to $28 so if you've been thinking about buying one, now's a good time.

Laundry? WAIT . . you are suppose to actually fold and put away that stuff??? WTH?

We go thru stuff so fast, sad I know and hate to say it . . . but we usually live off the couch w/ ours. We rarely have guests anyway, and the boys love to get on the couch and jump so the only way to 'deter' them is to pile it full of clothes! LOL! Sad . . I will hush now . . .

I am not going to be any help. I used to be in the same predicament as you. Now 5 of my 7 kids are old enough to do their own laundry :D I still have to do mine, dh's and the two youngest. I find if I fold the laundry in the room it has to be put away in, it is much more likely to make it to the closet or drawer it belongs in.

Hmmm, so far the suggestions are to move the mess from a hidden bedroom to the couch right when you walk in the front door or to adopt several older children who can help with the task. I don't think either of those options is going to work for me. Nice effort though, ladies.

Let me start by saying I LOVe your blog...I get inspired...that takes alot! :)
I let everyone in my family put their own clothes in the drawers...The kids drawers are labeled as to what goes where. Before my little one could read, I put pics on the drawers...they think it is the greatest thing ever! Good luck.
