Cutest Doll Ever..."Pink Eye Smile"

I bought an e-pattern last night from Etsy seller Bit of Whimsy Dolls. I've purchased some of her adorable raggedy ann's in the past and thought it would be fun to make one of her Doodle Girl dolls with Bella. Not so much. Making the doll was fine, her pattern is wonderful and very detailed. Working with Bella, not so fun. I can confirm, without a doubt, that we will never start a mother-daughter business.

This doll is for Bella with the body made from a pair of my grandpa's old jeans. My grandma gave me a huge stack of them when he died 3 1/2 years ago and I thought using them in a doll for each of the girls would create a really special keepsake for them. Bella chose the fabric and eye and hair color (should her choices scare me?) and decided to name her "Pink Eye Smile".

I really couldn't be happier with how this doll turned out. I think she's super cute and funky and want to keep her for myself. I did learn that I have no idea how to hand stitch so I really need to work on that. I'm thinking about making 3 or 4 of these to sell at the little event I'm doing this weekend. If you're curious, the pattern does allow for small scale commercial use (no more than 10 items at a time) as long as you give credit to Bit of Whimsy Dolls for the design.

That is super adorable! That would be so neat for a keepsake! I have my grandpa's old overall's that I have no idea what to do with, but I don't want them to sit in my closet forever . . LOL! Not as talented to do a doll, but maybe I can make a pillow or something! LOL!
